Letter to his father, Charles P. Wells, 24 November 1827.

Letter dated 24 November 1827 but postmarked 9 December 1827 in which Wells writes to his father in Fishing Creek, Tyler County, Virginia regarding trading along the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers and the recent sale of Hannah, one of his slaves, for $200. Wells also discusses the current prices in Natchez, New Orleans, and Nashville for apples, cider, flour, and other goods. He describes his prospects for seeling his apples and cider, and gives information about his planned itenerary. Wells cites his location "150 miles below the Falls," and he promises to write again when he reaches Natchez.
